Charles River Media Group was created by Don Schechter in 2004. Don recognized that many other talented freelancers in video production, animation, voice over, and other media fields were working independently. CRMG was formed to help bring skilled media producers together under one organization. In just a few short years, Charles River Media Group has flourished, working for clients throughout the United States and abroad. CRMG has an administrative staff in Brookline, MA that supports its contractors in the field.
CRMG's clients include corporations, non-profit and educational institutions, as well as individuals.
DOCUMENTARIES
Charles River Media Group has worked on a wide variety of documentaries ranging in topic from the making of Tonya and Nancy: The Opera to perceived boundaries in society to "Transcendent Man " - a look at the life and work of Ray Kurzweil.
We can work with you to take your concept from the pre-production stage all the way to DVD distribution. Our work includes multiple documentary genres, from traditional interview and location footage to cinema verite and reality television programming.
In fact, CRMG founder Don Schechter teaches an academic class on "The History of Documentary Films: From Nanook to The Real World" and co-taught"Producing Films for Social Change" and "Making Movies" at Tufts University.
With the purchase of High Definition (HD) Equipment, CRMG can produce documentaries for both HD television and film distribution.

LIVE EVENTS
We specialize in recording live events with multiple cameras and engaging editing. We have produced concert and theatrical performances for the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, Community Youth Orchestras of Boston, Harvard Radcliffe Gilbert & Sullivan Players, Brookline Music School, as well as Tufts University and Babson College.
A live event performance will consist of multiple cameras to catch all the action and produce a professional looking DVD fit for any audience. The performance is edited together seamlessly providing an exciting viewing experience.
